Is Apple Store A Cheapskate?

The first time I walked into the Apple Store on Regent Street in London back in January 2005, I was awestruck. Never have I walked into a computer store that was so un-techie-like, I thought I had walked into a posh designer label store. Each subsequent visit from then on was like a new exciting adventure; I was impressed the whole store, its architecture and design, the staff and how they operate. I couldn’t afford anything there of course, but nothing beats actually being there surrounded by other Mac enthuthiasts.

However, on my visit to the store today (Easter Sunday), my hopes were hampered when I found the doors closed shut. To my disbelief, I saw something that resembled a “CLOSED” sign, but more un-elegant and to be frank, very unprofessional-like. It was simly a piece of paper which had the words “TODAY CLOSED!” in a sloppy mix of black and red ink, stuck onto the glass door. Fortunately, I had my camera with me and took a few shots.

Right next to the doors was the new iPod Hi-Fi on display behind some fancy artwork on the glass pane. Perhaps they have overspent on this instead and couldn’t afford a decent “closed” sign?
