The Return of K2 - New 3-Column Themes
5 Comments Published by eJone 2 years, 8 months ago in Click Tech, Click MeA few posts back I switched to the Wordpress K2 theme and felt then that it was too much like a personal blog. I switched back to my old 3-column theme which I was much happier with. The only problem was that it was developed for Wordpress version 1.5 and does not utilise any of the newer functions available in version 2.0. Not that it matters, but since I’m on already on the latest version, why not use a theme made for it?
It was a couple of weeks back that I Googled the words “3-column k2” and came across two new styles for the K2 theme.
Well that didn’t last very long at all haha! The problem with the K2 theme was that it looks too much like a blog and I’m trying to move away from that. The K2 theme (which is still in beta) is feature-rich since it was developed specially for Wordpress 2.0. However, I have gone back to a pre-2.0 theme for now as I think it suits my purpose better.
I also appear to be struggling with content at the moment. You may notice that my first few entries on eJoneclicks.com was very mundane and trivial. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to share and posted some entries on latest happenings in the world of technology and Internet.

I quite like the previous 3-column theme, but when I ran it through the W3C Markup Validation Service, it came back with 79 errors! Bah! To be honest, I can’t be bothered to try and fix the errors when I’m struggling with content. Furthermore, I’ve been using Safari and Firefox on my Mac to view the website. When I viewed it using Internet Explorer 6.0 on my only chunky Dell laptop, the website was a total mess! The columns were not side-by-side but beneath each other!
I first came up with the idea for eJoneClicks.com in January, I had a rough idea of how I want it to look like, based on other IT-related technical websites I came across during my usual everyday clicks. It has been a while since I last sat down and developed a website.
I was shocked to find how much the world wide web has changed in terms of style, development and engineering. The last time I touched a piece of HTML code was when I first started work after graduating back in 1998. Back then, a typical website would require the following things :
This is the first kick-off post for this techie blog. Things that are related to the world of IT will be covered here, including tips, guides, facts, current news, interesting web links and also reviews.
