I got up early this morning to check up on any responses regarding the submission of my first plugin on WordPress.org last night at midnight. Does anyone know if they are having problems with their web hosting? Are they transferring their domain names to different servers? Could it just be unreachable from this side of the pond?
Worse still, could somebody have tripped on a wire while watching the World Cup? Hehe.
I guess we’ll just we have to wait and find out.

It’s still unreachable. Anyone has better luck?

Looks like all is well now.
PayPal Donate Plugin for WordPress

This is a plugin for WordPress that adds a small PayPal Donation form on your sidebar. It allows visitors of your site to make a donation or contribution via PayPal, the most popular and largest online payment processing service. Some settings can be changed via the Options Page.
For a while now every (almost) technology blog I came across on the internet has the PayPal Donate button. Sometimes they are located on an article, but most of them they can be found on the sidebar. Obviously I didn’t want to be left out, so I went to seek the code for my own PayPal Donate button.
Moving from Blogger and Haloscan to WordPress - Part 2
3 Comments Published by eJone 2 years, 3 months ago in Click TipsIn part one, I discussed about the requirements and things you need to consider before taking the plunge. If you’ve pretty much got the general idea and are ready to go ahead, let’s move on.
I have broken down the whole process into six stages:
- Preparing your web host and database
- Downloading, configuring and uploading WordPress
- Exporting all your comments from Haloscan and uploading them
- Importing from Blogger
- Importing from Haloscan
- Tidying up
Don’t worry if anything from the above scares you. I will go through each stage in detail below:
Moving from Blogger and Haloscan to WordPress - Part 1
3 Comments Published by eJone 2 years, 3 months ago in Click TipsI recently migrated one of my blogs from Blogger, along with all my comments from Haloscan, to WordPress 2.0. It took me a couple of days of research before finally understanding what was needed to accomplish this. Once everything was already in place, it only took a few minutes to move everything across.
WordPress itself is extremely easy to install. If you don’t believe me, have a look at their Famous 5-Minute Install page.
The Return of K2 - New 3-Column Themes
5 Comments Published by eJone 2 years, 4 months ago in Click Tech, Click MeA few posts back I switched to the Wordpress K2 theme and felt then that it was too much like a personal blog. I switched back to my old 3-column theme which I was much happier with. The only problem was that it was developed for Wordpress version 1.5 and does not utilise any of the newer functions available in version 2.0. Not that it matters, but since I’m on already on the latest version, why not use a theme made for it?
It was a couple of weeks back that I Googled the words “3-column k2” and came across two new styles for the K2 theme.
